Usage:

1. Battery Industry: Lithium carbonate is a critical precursor in manufacturing lithium-ion battery cathode materials (LFP, NMC, NCA), widely used in electric vehicles (EVs), energy storage systems, and consumer electronics.

2. Ceramics & Glass: Used to reduce melting temperatures, improve thermal shock resistance, and enhance hardness and brightness in glass, ceramics, and enamel coatings.

3. Pharmaceuticals: Key active ingredient in mood-stabilizing medications for the treatment of bipolar disorder.

4. Industrial Chemicals: Serves as a precursor for lithium hydroxide, lithium chloride, and other lithium compounds used in various industrial processes.

Packing: 25 kg net per woven bag with PE inner liner; 500 kg or 1000 kg bulk bags available upon request.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Keep containers tightly sealed and protected from moisture. Minimum shelf life: 2 years under proper storage conditions.

Applications

Beyond lithium-ion battery cathode materials (LFP, NMC, NCA), lithium carbonate has diverse industrial applications. In the ceramics and glass industry, it acts as a flux that lowers melting temperatures and improves the thermal shock resistance of glass-ceramics and cookware (e.g., Pyroceram-type glass). Pharmaceutical-grade lithium carbonate is an established mood-stabilising medication for bipolar disorder treatment. In aluminium smelting, small additions of lithium carbonate to the electrolyte bath reduce energy consumption and improve cell efficiency. Lithium carbonate is also used in the manufacture of lithium grease (lithium stearate), the most widely used automotive and industrial lubricating grease thickener. For battery applications, battery-grade lithium carbonate requires purity ≥99.5% with strict limits on Na, K, Ca, Mg, and heavy metal impurities. Conversion: approximately 5.3 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) are required to produce 1 tonne of lithium metal for battery applications.
